Business advocacy division within
the Chamber. Monitors legislative, regulatory, and zoning
matters on a local, regional, and state level; disseminates
information to membership of any items that may directly affect
the business community. Provides report cards on voting records
of elected officials and may hold candidate nights during
election season.
Business Development
Through its partnership with the City of North Las Vegas
Economic Development Department, that includes Business
Retention Visits, committee members identify and plan CEO
Roundtables. Bringing top level business managers together for
the purpose of information and idea exchange, identifying issues
and assisting with resolution.
Land Use & Zoning
Monitor, lobby, and report on land use issues within the
City of North Las Vegas and those within Clark County with
potential impact on North Las Vegas. Work with appropriate
officials to maintain suitable zoning for business development
and expansion.
Legislative
Monitors and
reports on bills and issues during the legislative session that
impact the business community. Acts proactively to ensure
business friendly legislation.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Golf Tournament
Annual tournament held in June. Committee efforts include
securing sponsorships, raffle prizes, golfers, and volunteers.
This is the largest fundraiser for the Chamber Foundation with
proceeds from the raffle benefiting the Chamber Educational
Foundation.

Business Education
Enterprise Program (BEEP)
Library
Grant Program: $500 grants presented to high school
libraries that service North Las Vegas students for the purchase
of business related books.
Scholarship Program: One business major at both the
Community College of Southern Nevada (CCSN) and the University
of NV Las Vegas (UNLV) will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship
for academic excellence.

Vegas Chamber Business Day: Fall event which affords
students the opportunity to experience first-hand how businesses
operate. As businesses open their doors, this unique field-trip
day opens the eyes of future community leaders.
Speakers
Bureau: Chamber members volunteer their time and talent
to speak to students of all ages about their real-life work and
business experiences and the importance education has played in
their careers.
Business Education Day: Two-part
Spring event beginning with students shadowing Chamber members
and learning about the day-to-day business of running a
business. Those Chamber members will then escort their students
to the Business Education Recognition Luncheon where the Chamber
Foundation will pay tribute to educators, students, and
volunteers whose commitment to the future of business in North
Las Vegas is applauded and recognized.
